The Belly Cake

IMG_4449The Belly Cake is just that.  A big ole baby belly!  It seems to go over really well with the baby showers lately.  I’ve done a good many over the years, with the theme getting a little more modern each time.  I’ve even done a zebra themed belly cake recently that’s pictured below.

The best thing about the belly cake is there are so fun to make.  I use a half an egg pan for the belly and two cupcakes for the chest.  The cakes are covered in buttercream, except for the belly and accents are fondant.  Fun Fun!!

50th Anniversary Cake

This is my first “big” cake order.  It was mighty big in fact.  The tiers were 14″, 12″, 8″ and 6″,  with an additional 2 side cakes that are 10″.  The daisies are gumpaste.  The fresh greenery was added by the flori It was fun to do, but wouldn’t want to do it anytime soon again.  I stayed up until 3:30 am the night before making sure everything was done for the next morning.  I’m not usually without my 8 hours of sleep, so 4 hours wasn’t that good to me.  But it’s over, everyone loved it, and it is just a pretty picture now!

Benefit Golf Tournament

It doesn’t look it but this cake was very large.  It was the largest cake I’ve done so far and I loved it!  All be it my nerves were shot by the time it was done.  It was for a great cause though and I was happy to do it!

El Sweet Cavities!

Don’t you just love it when there is something to celebrat every other day!  This cake was actually done for a feista themed party.  It was really simple and fun to do.  The sombrero is actually a cupcake covered in fondant with a ribbon to match the other colors of the cake.

Kitten In a Basket

IMG_3172Here Kitty Kitty.

This was a cake I did for my niece who loves kittens.  But what little girl doesn’t love kittens!  Everything is cake except for the balls of yarn which is rice krispie treats wrapped in fondant.  The basket and kitten are iced in buttercream with fondant accents.

Little Mermaid Cake

IMG_3931The Little Mermaid was requested by my niece this weekend for her birthday.  I wasn’t too thrilled with the out come, but I think she really liked it.

But then again…she’s just 3!

End of School Year Class Party

IMG_3904I made this cake  for my daughters class.  She wanted to say “thank you” to her teacher and also include all the childrens names.  I found another cake on www.cakecentral.com that was very inspiring, so I put this together.

Okay, so what!  I’m a big ole copy cat.  That’s fine,  I admit it!
